Hello, my name is Lark

I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Washington. I graduated with my Masters in Social Work and my Masters in Public Administration from the University of Washington in 2009.  I have worked in direct services with a diverse population spanning from housing services to child welfare, King County Superior Court (including conducting mediations) and working for a major Seattle hospital.

I live in South Seattle with my husband and young family. We love to play board games and explore the Pacific Northwest.

When my mom was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in July 2019, even as a medical social worker, I found myself overwhelmed and struggling. I was also parenting a toddler. I was stretched very thin and wished there were someone who could really help with the never ending logistics and to take on some of the tasks. Although my mom always meant to make a concrete plan, she was so young (only 62 when she was diagnosed) and life was always busy. So we were then scrambling to get her affairs in order. It was the most challenging time of my life. I was her primary care giver, managing her medical treatment, caring for my own toddler while struggling with my anticipatory grief. I learned a lot in that trial by fire and want to turn that experience into providing support for other families facing and coping with the death of a loved one. I understand how overwhelming everything can feel and how difficult even relatively simple decisions can be. It has been over two years since she passed. In that time I have become a resource for others going through difficult diagnosis and managing the emotional and practical logistics after a death.

As a licensed mental health provider I am skilled in navigating these tender times and would like to be able to offer support and connection while I help ease some of the burden.
